Over the last 6yrs Anushka Sharma has gone from a Punjabi girl next door to a  boho, Haryanvi girl sporting quirky tattoos all over her body. She has certainly proved her mettle as an actress and is here to stay. There is an apparent change in her appearance  Yes, she is more fashion concious now,( not that she was a fashion disaster before) that sure shows in her recent appearances and cover shoots. If gossip mongers are to be believed, this fashion's new darling is sporting a plastic smile( couldn't find better words for- lip job). I sure find something weird with her lips, but who cares till she gives us such stunning appearances.

Her personal sense of style sure has taken a shift form Classic to Androgynous. She has become more bold and experimental with her looks, the best example I can give rite now is the forehead fringe she is sporting these days. Initially, she seemed a little Priyanka Chopra from InMy City to me, but now it's totally Anushka. Her stylist is brilliantly amalgamated her new hairdo with smart styling. I am a fan of her recent ELLE India cover, her airport and red carpet looks at the TOIFA, Vancouver and  her Golden studded 'Anaikka' by Kanika Saluja jacket, for MTV India Music Awards. Androgynous is so her. I think she should stick to it. ( read this post to know more on- Androgynous Style and Styling tips )

Khans or Bachchans: which Bollywood's Power Couple rocked TOIFA's red carpet with their style? 

Walking TOIFA's red carpet in style are Bollywood's two Power couples Abhi-Ash and SRK-Gauri( in the pic above)

Where Abhi chose Navy blue Shervani, Ash looked drop dead gorgeous in green Anarkali by Sabyasachi. SRK and Gauri did the matchy-matchy !! SRK walked the red carpet in a maroon-black tuxedo and Gauri wore red drapped sar by Tarun Tahilliani.

Of the two we like the Bachchans more though, Ash seriously needs to get rid of the front fringe, falling on her face. We understand its Ash's obvious attempt to hide her post-baby fat from the face but, this earned you a minus here. SRK and Gauri, this was a bad attempt to match the red carpet. That tuxedo didn't look really good on  SRK and Gauri's understated styling spoiledthe whole look.

Spotted! Delhi's Most Stylish..(according to HT) was recently spotted at the Chatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai. Ambika, dressed casually in a black jumper and a  grey button-down sweater shrug, couldn't hide how tired she was even under her cat-eye glasses and that smile. That scarf  added pop of color to the look and quilted Channel bag sure got my eye..But this look is not a win-win for us!! We expect much better from Delhi's Most Stylish..

Shiny Disco Balls!- Nargis Fakhri in a glittering, strapless gown by Komal Sood.

This look somehow seems familiar to me . For some reason it reminds me of Bruna Abdullah's look from the song 'Tu Mera Hero', Desi Boyz ( I couldn't find a suitable still from the song..but if you have seen the song you'd know what I am talking about.)
 Pop of Fuchsia on lips and minimum accessories, rightly done. Perfect styling made this look Confessionz another favourite from TOIFA's red carpet.

Priyanka Chopra walking the red carpet of first ever Times of India Film Awards in Vancouver on Saturday.. 

Priyanka is wearing  a black and gold, Vintage inspired gown by Arpan Vohra from his Summer Resort 2013 Collection.The look is very old Hollywood and perfectly styled by Ami Patel. Love the classic black and gold combination, accessorized  perfectly with a black and gold structured clutch and black footwear, minimal make-up and side hairdo is making this look another stunner by Priyanka .

So, fashion bloggers talk a lot about weather, Which is obvious. I used to think that weather makes the worst small talk. But now, it seems like something that decides the whole conversation, well post conversation  itself.

19th March, DLF Promenade hosted a Delhi Fashion Bloggers Meet which brought together 12 fashion  bloggers from Delhi and Mumbai. All the bloggers were given a challenge to create either of these looks.. Androgynous, Monochrome, Resort-Wear, Formal-Wear, Neon& Neutrals, Pastels, Graphical using apparels, shoes and accessories from the in-house brands available at the mall including Zara, Mango, Bebe, Aldo, CKJ, lacoste, Clarks, Tommy Hilfiger, Sunglass Hut, FCUK, Steve Madden., etc.,. All the looks were the judged by ace designer Suneet Verma..

My choice of theme was Androgynous for obvious reasons( that's my personal style and is still kinda untapped in Indian Fashion scene) and styled this adorable girl Garima, who happens to be a class 12th student, listens to Jazz and loves dressing up like her favourite Jazz musician who apparently dresses exactly like this..

What and Why Androgynous??..

In today's day-and-age, as modern Indian women feel the urgent need to be empowered, I feel androgynous fashion (thanks to the masculine elements) is the need of the hour. Besides fusing style and chic glamour  androgynous fashion might also be instrumental in making women feel a little more powerful -- at least psychologically. In fashion terms too, androgynous fashion has been a source of interest and intrigue for ages but today, as society's boundaries change, the androgynous look is in vogue like never before. 

To put it simply, as Indian women become more independent and empowered, androgynous fashion can be the right combination of style, glamour, comfort and need for an archetypal desi female folk. It doesn't require you to put in hours and hours going through your wardrobe and sitting in front of your mirror to hit upon the right look. It's easier to don androgynous look and still you can mix up various elements right from your hair style to your shirt/top, trousers, shoes and almost everything and make it your personal style statement. So the possibilities are just endless. And since it's not very time consuming, it can come in handy for working as well as non-working women. It's the order of the day for all modern-day women.

It was a wonderful and an enriching experience. Its nice to see that fashion bloggers in India are finally taken seriously. It feels great to be recognized with such events as Indian fashion blogging scene is still growing and these events are like pat on the back for our little contribution in this big Fashion Cycle.
