Allen Solly, with its new identity, has brought the classic English style and persona to India. The design reflects Allen Solly’s move from being just a formalwear to a new ‘fashion conscious’ and experimental’ audience. The store juxtaposes the brand’s heritage with a more contemporary feel and this was quiet evident in the South Ex-1 store..though they already have one in the same block.. but this one had much more to offer ingterms of ambiance and style..with a Live Band performance , Wine and Cheese..it was one perfect evening. The new concept was first launched in Indiranagar, Bangalore and the South extension store is second in line of the new store designs across the country!

Spring 2013 is inspired by the spirit of a nautical journey.  From sea to sand, deck to harbor, sailing life informs the easy, fluid attitude of the collection.  The effortless “off-duty” style calls to mind Jackie O and Lauren Hutton entering ports of call in exotic locales.  The look is quintessentially American, but at home anywhere in the world.            

   

                      

From tonal sailcloth inspired patchwork to the brand’s signature red, white, and blue, the collection brings a youthful sense of adventure to the classics. Stripes are reinvented with playful patterns and nautical motifs – a breton version goes lux in pieced leather.  Menswear favorites are reinterpreted in slouchy printed silk suits, oversized blouses and cableknit varsity sweaters.  Dresses are a key silhouette – canvas shirtdresses are accented with lattice lacing and grommet details for a sporty touch while draped silk styles move effortlessly from daytime to evening.  Colorblocked handbags in exaggerated proportions are the perfect traveling companion.  The new boat shoe pops against a stacked white heel, while flat espadrilles lend a nonchalant ease to dramatic trapeze gowns for cocktail hour.  Giving spirited independence to iconic style, the course is set for an American Voyage.

Supima show at Mercedes-Benz New York Fahsion Week Spring 13

The Lincoln Center surprised the audience when cotton came out in its most couture and versatile avatar. The Supima show at the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week floored the people witnessing the action with beautiful designs and refreshing take on the only fabric that loves you back.

Dhruv Singh, winner of Cotton Council International’s Let’s Design season 4 had a gala time at the fashion week. Absorbing the fashion chaos, he also couldn’t resist the wonders of cotton showcased on the ramp.

I am wearing : I wanted to feel Comfortable and look Chic at the same time..because right after attending a fashion show I had work backstage for my College's Show..( Read  HERE ) So I mixed comfort and style together.. instead of heels and clutch ,I opted for Loafers and a convertible Tote-Sling Bag .. paired it with a dull grey dress.. and because it was a fashion show , a Classic Black Blazer for that Formal touch.. and colourful accessories to Brighten the Look *__* and I absolutely LOVE what my Girlfriends are wearing !!

This Friday , Delhi witnessed nation's Biggest Fashion Extravaganza, 'VOGUE Fashion's Night Out'..!!

Unlike, the similar international events of same the stature, this one had a lot missing.. The designers and Organizers were not quiet happy with the response.. surprisingly this time the awareness and publicity was better than the past two years.. I guess we have a long way to go.. But Bollywood's presence kept the Glam Quotient High..!!**

Till yesterday afternoon I was clueless , how to Style the Outfit for Indian Fusion Remix and then this happened..!!

I have always said and believed that we Desis ( Indians) have an advantage of mixing Our Desi elements with the West.. So for the Fusion Remix I chose this Colourful, Asymmetrical, Crushed-Kurti with Gotta and sequin detailing. Gold is again associated with India in a Big way.. I remember my Daadu (Grandpa) saying , "Humara Bharat (India) Sone ki Chidiya hua karta tha " meaning ,India use to be the Land of Gold .. So, I stacked up Gold  Bangles and Cuffs with my all time favourite Gold watch  and a Swarovski Bindi for that dash of DESIPAN..I am also wearing a necklace and anklet which will soon be available on the blogshop.
